Reading and writing is a fairly recent invention that has become the foundation of our civilization and will remain so for some time. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Writer’s cramp tells me that what I’m doing is meaningless and should be stopped, and that any writing itch is not desirable until I have something important to communicate to my fellow beings. What is your favorite time to write? In peace and quiet, and with an urgent message to communicate. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? All texts are improved by omissions. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? The fact that some of us have readers in so many countries and in several languages is a great opportunity, but also means a great responsibility.
