Ruth Franklin’s Shirley Jackson: A Rather Haunted Life and David J. Skal’s Something in the Blood: The Untold Story of Bram Stoker, the Man Who Wrote Dracula were nominated in the Best Critical/Biographical category. Stephen King’s The Music Room, published in the anthology In Sunlight or In Shadow was nominated for Best Short Story. Monica Hesse’s Girl in the Blue Coat was nominated in the Young Adult category.
