The institute will be held May 20 to June 4, 2017, during which time, students will be working journalists and will be supervised by reporters and editors from The New York Times. Applicants must submit a completed online application form, a resume, a cover letter, an essay of up to 500 words on why he or she wants to be a journalist, and writing samples according to what specialty the student is interested in.
