Member Spotlight: James W. White

author James White and an image of his book Giants

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Writing is what I do. It’s my most comfortable place to be as a creative person, and I love the challenges writing poses as a creative outlet. I call it writing out of a corner. As a past professional technical writer, I can attest to the importance writing can be in all aspects of the wide-world of information sharing.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Take a walk.

What is your favorite time to write? Any time of day and night. It’s a matter of capturing ideas when they come and there’s no schedule.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Nobody wants to read your sh*t, by Steven Pressfield.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? Keeping up with my colleagues’ progress and learning about the industry’s changing technology.

James W. White’s Giants is out now with Liminal Books.
