authors guild principles

It is one of the key principles of the Authors Guild that writers should receive appropriate compensation for their work.

We have learned that some authors and other freelance contributors to Out magazine are not being paid for their work in violation of this principle and the terms of their contracts. This is despite a significant increase in traffic (and presumably revenue) to the website.

If you are a member who has not been paid for your work for Out magazine, please let us know so we can determine if we can assist you.  If you work in New York City, you may have additional rights under the Freelance Isn’t Free Act, including the right to be paid within 30 days of completion of the work or invoice.
