Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience is accepting applications for the Patrick Henry Writing Fellowship. The fellowship includes a $45,000 stipend, health benefits, faculty privileges, a book allowance, and a nine-month residency (during the 2017-2018 academic year) in Chestertown, MD. Applicants should have a significant book-length project currently in progress. The project should address the history and/or legacy – broadly defined – of the American Revolution and the nation’s founding ideas. Applicants should submit a cover letter, a CV, including a list of past publications, three references, at least one writing sample, a short description of a course that the candidate might teach, and a brief description of the work-in-progress, as well as the candidate’s plan for his or her fellowship year.
