Brit Bennett’s The Mothers was longlisted for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for Debut Fiction. Jerome Charyn’s A Loaded Gun: Emily Dickinson for the 21st Century, Ruth Franklin’s Shirley Jackson: A Rather Haunted Life, and Joe Jackson’s Black Elk: The Life of an American Visionary were longlisted for the PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for Biography. Tess Lewis’s translation of Angel of Oblivion by Maja Haderlap was longlisted for the PEN Translation Prize.
