It’s important to me because I see the world in stories. Writing stories is my way of understanding the world and my interaction with it. It’s an important medium for the world because I believe my readers can see themselves in my stories and become absorbed in them. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? I tell myself a writer writes. If you’re not writing, you’re not a writer. What is your favorite time to write? Morning. I also write in the afternoon. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? A writer writes. I can’t remember where I first read it. I think it was in a novel by James Jones, maybe Some Came Running. Your writing doesn’t have to be published by a New York publisher for it to be validated as writing. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? The ability to self-publish on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing is something that separates this age from previous ones. If I had to wait for a New York publishing house to publish my books, not one of the seventeen would ever have been published. Bryan Cassiday’s Murder LLC is out now.
