It’s a form of self-expression and a means to share stories with people. Story-telling has always been part of man’s history. It broadens mental horizons and massages the imagination. Like our ancestors, it also keeps at bay the fear of the dark, metaphorically or otherwise. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Nature–some time away from the computer. What is your favorite time to write? Evening up to dawn. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Write for yourself first. If you’re happy with it, you’ve already got one satisfied reader. As to publishing, one has to remember the still valid adage–it’s a marathon, not a sprint. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? Self-publishing. It has its disadvantages. But in general, it allows aspiring authors to bypass arbitrary gatekeepers. Edmund A. M.
