Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? I write to create the kinds of stories I’d love to read. I write to feel a sense of purpose–to leave a mark on the world when I’m gone. We need books so that we can be taken on journeys of the imagination.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? I don’t think there is such a thing as “writer’s block.” There is actively writing and there is actively avoiding writing.

What is your favorite time to write? I tend to write late at night, in that magic hour for me, when stories drift in the air, begging to be gathered.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Sit your butt down and write, and keep it there and edit until every “precious” word is dead.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? It excites me to be able to reach readers via social media and other modern outreaches. These are readers I’d never have reached even 30 years ago.

Juni Ann Fisher’s Indelible Link is out now with ‎ Bedazzled Ink Publishing.
