Member Spotlight: Kaira Rouda

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Writing always has been my preferred mode of expression, since I was a child. With the written word you can convey so much, and when written with passion and conviction, you can in fact change the world.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? I’ve learned that my muse is worth protecting and nurturing. If she’s not feeling it, well, I don’t push her.

What is your favorite time to write? The afternoon and evening. I am not a morning person.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Persistence is the key to success. If you don’t give up, you will make your dreams come true.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? All of the different publishing options. There are so many choices between traditional, hybrid, and self-publishing.
