Because I’m good at it. I try to write literary lesbian mysteries. Being a crappy speller and a bit dyslexic, this is a lot of work. But I love it. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? You got me. I keep working at it. I used to tell my students, eat chicken. I meant, take care of your brain as an athlete would take care of his body. It worked for some of them. What is your favorite time to write? Late morning, early afternoon. Since I’ve retired I like to sleep late. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Suit up and show up. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? Not much. I’m a senior citizen. I never think to Google a problem until someone tells me to. Social media confounds me.
