I’m a reader first — reading is my first love and my most enduring passion. Reading helps me live other lives, go other places, experience other points of view. It’s the most immersive kind of art, it builds empathy, and fosters imaginative and critical thinking. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Type through it! You can always type something, even if it’s rubbish, and that rubbish often builds a bridge to where you eventually need to go. What is your favorite time to write? Morning. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? If you’re writing long form, promise yourself a gift once you’ve accomplished one hundred solid pages. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? I love all the communities of readers, who get together in all kinds of forums and share their love of books. Nina de Gramont’s The Christie Affair is out now with St. Martin’s Press.
