Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? It’s an important way for me to express my creativity and I like the fact that it’s a problem-solving activity. The beauty of fiction is that it put writers and readers into another world.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? The best remedy is to write. Even if it’s bad. At least you have something down as opposed to an empty screen or piece of paper. It gives you something to work with, so I cannot use the excuse of writer’s block.

What is your favorite time to write? Morning. Because I am freshest and when I am done I have the rest of the day to do other things and I feel accomplished.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Keep writing!

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? There are many issues that can lead to some exciting topics.

Scott Badler’s JFK & the Muckers of Choate is out May 29 with Bancroft Press.
