Writing is a magical medium where authors and readers can have a conversation across time and place. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? I write morning journal pages, vomit out stream-of-consciousness thoughts, and when all else fails, go for a run. What is your favorite time to write? I’m not a morning person or a night owl, so mid-day works for me. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Read widely in and out of your genre and age category. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? The ability to connect with people all over the world, and to find kindred spirits who get excited about the same things I do. Sylvia Liu’s Manatee’s Best Friend is out now with Scholastic, Inc.
