Authors Guild v. Google Settlement Resources Page

On October 28, 2008 the Authors Guild, the Association of American Publishers and Google announced the landmark settlement of Authors Guild v. Google. On this page, we’ve gathered documents and links that will be of interest to authors and others regarding this settlement.

Critical Dates:

January 28, 2010.  This is the new deadline to opt out of the settlement.  If you had previously opted out and would like to be in, this is the opt in deadline (those who haven’t opted out have no need to opt in). This is also the deadline to object to the new provisions in the amended settlement.

February 4, 2010. This is the deadline to file a notice of intent to appear at the Fairness Hearing.

February 18, 2010. Fairness Hearing.

March 31, 2011. This is the deadline to claim your books and inserts to be eligible for cash payments for their digitization.
