Authors Guild Launchpad: Publicity for Children’s Books

resource video

What does a successful publicity campaign look like for children’s books—picture books, middle grade, and YA? Join us to kick off the kidlit edition of Authors Guild Launchpad with a panel discussion featuring veteran publicists who will give us an overview of the steps and timelines that authors should expect. Topics addressed will include:

  • Publicity that helps garner more reviews
  • How to get galleys into the right hands
  • Pitching the media to get featured in local and national outlets
  • How publicists can help manage tours and school visits
  • Attending and speaking at festivals and conferences

Expect to gain a big-picture understanding of publicity for children’s books as well as concrete advice that you can apply whether you are working with your publisher, hiring a freelancer, or going the DIY route.
