The Guild Circle

A community committed to protecting the freedom to read and write.

Writers shape how we understand the world. They inform public discourse, preserve knowledge, challenge power, and expand our collective capacity for empathy and insight.

At the Authors Guild Foundation, we defend and support that essential work, confronting book bans, addressing the impact of artificial intelligence, protecting copyright, and expanding public educational programs that serve writers and readers alike.

For years, many have asked how they can stand with the Guild and Foundation even if they are not eligible for Guild membership. The Guild Circle was created in response.

The Guild Circle is a sustaining community open to all who believe in the essential role of writers in a free society. Through monthly giving, Guild Circle members provide reliable, year-round support that allows the Foundation to act with urgency and independence.
