Member Spotlight: Danith McPherson

author Danith McPherson and her book not Her First Murder

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Writing is sharing. The written word invites the reader to participate, to interact with the content in their own time and at their own pace. It allows reflection at the moment and in the future.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Writer’s block means I’m going down the wrong path. When that happens, I have some chocolate and try a different direction.

What is your favorite time to write? Early afternoon is when I feel most productive. (I’m not a morning person.)

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? 1. Apply posterior to chair. 2. Finish what you start.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? I enjoy being free to move across genres and formats.

Danith McPherson’s Not Her First Murder is out now with Wayward Serpent.
