Join us for a conversation with U.S. Representative Teresa Leger Fernández (D-NM) and the Authors Guild’s lobbyist, Marla Grossman. Leger Fernández sponsored both the Creative Economy Revitalization Act (CERA) and the 21st Century Federal Writers Project. This discussion will address the importance of authors and other creative professionals as a driving force in both our culture and the economy. We will ask the congresswoman about her legislative efforts to provide grant opportunities to put artists to work, as well as our proposed legislative amendments to enable authors and other freelance creators to engage in collective bargaining.
