Books to Broadway From Manuscript to Marque: Celebrating Stories that Shine on Stage. Each gathering begins with a dinner or cocktail reception, bringing together readers, theater lovers, and supporters of the Authors Guild Foundation for an insider conversation with the author and/or the playwright, director, or creative team behind a Broadway adaptation of a literary work. In a relaxed, off-the-record setting, guests hear firsthand how a story makes the leap from page to stage, what’s gained and what’s wrestled with along the way, and how collaboration reshapes a singular literary voice into a shared theatrical experience. Guests may then attend the performance together, carrying those insights into the theater and experiencing the work with fresh perspective. Attendance is extended through invitations from the Authors Guild Foundation and our hosts, with a required contribution supporting the Foundation’s advocacy and educational work on behalf of writers nationwide. Books to Broadway offers a rare opportunity to be part of the conversation, celebrating storytelling across forms while helping to protect the freedom to write, create, and be heard.
