Page to Stage

Page to Stage, part of our Guild Nights events, are intimate evenings at the intersection of literature, live performance, and conversation, designed to feel less like an event and more like a modern literary salon. Each gathering begins with a dinner or cocktail reception, bringing together readers, supporters of the performing arts, and friends of the Authors Guild Foundation for an insider conversation with the author and/or the playwright, director, or creative team behind a stage adaptation of a literary work.

In a relaxed, off-the-record setting, guests hear firsthand how a story makes the leap from page to stage, what’s gained and what’s wrestled with along the way, and how collaboration reshapes a singular literary voice into a shared performance experience. 

Guests may then attend the performance together, carrying those insights into the theater and experiencing the work with fresh perspective. Attendance is extended through invitations from the Authors Guild Foundation and our hosts, with a required contribution supporting the Foundation’s advocacy and educational work on behalf of writers nationwide. Page to Stage offers a rare opportunity to be part of the conversation, celebrating storytelling across forms while helping to protect the freedom to write, create, and be heard.
