Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Writing is an integral part of who I am. When I’m not writing, I feel incomplete. I think the free exchange of ideas, either in fiction or non-fiction, is essential to survive in today’s world. It’s beneficial to everyone if we’re able to listen to how others see the world and how they deal with their life situation, even in fiction.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Amazingly, I don’t really have writer’s block. I may hit a snag in my writing where I’m not sure where my character is going or how they’re going to react to a situation, but I can usually resolve that quickly. Guess you can tell I’m a pantser.

What is your favorite time to write? Historically in the morning, but lately it seems I’m writing more in the afternoon.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Read as much as you can and write whenever you can. Don’t give up on a project you truly believe in.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? I think the many different ways writers have to get their books out in front of people. I also think Zoom meetings have allowed us to meet more people and talk about our books to such a wide variety of people that we never would have been able to meet before.
