As an undergrad at Berkeley, I got a D on one of the first term paper I wrote, and I asked the instructor if I could rewrite it based on his feedback. From that I learned about the importance of rewriting and revision. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Thankfully, I have never had that problem. What is your favorite time to write? Morning, with a big cup of coffee. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? In writing the first draft do not filter, just let it flow. It can be edited later. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? Being able to get the message out about how men caught up in the Man Box of adherence to rigid masculine norms can free themselves and live more fully.
