Writing is important to me because it is the basis and primary tool for discourse needed to understand difference. Without writing and storytelling, our culture, history, and society as a whole would cease to function properly. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Watching horrible movies. There are always gems to be found. I think the cure is relaxing, reading something else, or just experiencing art. What is your favorite time to write? The morning before the emails start to go off. It is cheesy but writing while the sun rises is the best. The sun always seems to create the best tension and gives the best insight to any written materials. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Just do it. Stop being your own obstacle. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? The ability to educate, inform, and enlighten. Donald Vincent’s Convenient Amnesia is out now with Broadstone Books.
