Member Spotlight: Cynthia Lynn

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world?
The world needs writers to interpret events and issues that are facing society in this 21st century of debates and arguments regarding our relationships with each other as people rather than political pawns for the powerful and power grabbing to use at will, and to bend to to their need.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block?
Honestly, I am pumped, I haven’t had to worry about writer’s block, instead, I’ve had find a 48 hour time span in a 24 hour day, needing to find that precious time to write and finish my projects that are too numerous, and for which I have so little time.

What is your favorite time to write?
Unlike many writers, I find the silence of the late evening after dinner the time I can focus on a project and the multitude of what yet needs to be done.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers?
Write about what you know and what you feel passionately about.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age?
This is a writer’s dream of an era where chaos reigns and communication modes and outlets are too numerous for the events that we are experiencing daily, and the need is for a writer to interpret what is headline leading to the powerful in media outlets that are no longer reporting they are analyzing.  Only a writer can find the means to write about what is life today from a personal sense of it.
