As a storyteller, I use writing as an escape and as an opportunity to positively impact the reader. I have a responsibility that I do not not take lightly. Someone may actually read my work and take it to heart! What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Quiet reflection and meditation. A cluttered mind works against my creativity. I must be immersed in the world I create. I cannot fathom and have not mastered the art of writing on demand. What is your favorite time to write? Afternoon and middle of the night when thoughts and ideas abound and the fun starts. Writing becomes pure joy and paves the way for exploration, embellishment, and expansion. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Write from the heart. Know yourself and stay true. Proudly write; proudly publish. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? Writing old-fashioned stories layered with subliminal messages about young women who face challenges and earn their triumphs through life lessons. Integral and significant markers of personal growth and integrity ring true even in the 21st century. Miriam C. Crouch’s Beyond Morningstar Lane is out on December 23 with Black Rose Writing.
