The Authors Guild partnered with James Patterson this spring to identify candidates for his inaugural “Go Finish Your Book” grants of up to $50,000 each, providing crucial financial support to help authors complete works in progress.
From our cohort of 10 Authors Guild finalists, three were selected as finalists in the overall competition, and we’re absolutely thrilled to announce that four of our members were named winners: Medar de la Cruz, Judith Dupré, Steven James, and Yvonne Liu. Huge congratulations to all!
The volunteers on our Authors Guild selection committee took on the tremendous challenge of reviewing nearly 900 proposals from Guild members. Our heartfelt thanks go to Marie Arana, Amy Bloom, Mary Bly, Susan Cheever, W. Ralph Eubanks, Owen King, Chris Pavone, Peter Petre, Letty Cottin Pogrebin, Roxana Robinson, Jaunique Sealey, and Victor LaValle for their hard work and generous commitment of time.
