I love experiencing the sense of flow and immersion that occurs when I’m trying to get inside my characters’ thoughts and feelings. And I think reading promotes empathy, as research has indicated, since readers are seeing the world through the eyes of another. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? I stick to my routine–I rise early, take a long walk, have breakfast, and then I sit in my favorite chair and write. I do this six or seven days a week without fail. What is your favorite time to write? Mornings What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Don’t think you have to spill out perfect sentences, get the story down, and revise later. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? I love bringing characters from the past to life.
