Member Spotlight: L. E. Eyring

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Writing is the closest thing I have to magic. I create worlds from nothing, and with a few words, can transport those worlds into someone else’s mind. What is more magical than that?

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? I don’t subscribe to the concept of writer’s block. If it doesn’t exist, it can’t hurt me! But seriously, let your brain rest. Read some books, go outside, and pet a cat.

What is your favorite time to write? Early in the morning. While the world is still asleep, I’m already dreaming.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Write a story as if it’s the reader’s second time picking up your book.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? There’s no shortage of topics, and there’s always something to say. And we need people to tell their stories now more than ever.
