I began writing during a difficult time in my life when I was struggling with my health. Writing became an escape that helped me cope with the reality of living with a chronic illness. The value of literature is immense. Whether reading to learn a new skill, for self-improvement, or just for the joy of it, its applications are endless. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? When I have a bout of writer’s block, I take time to pursue my other creative hobbies. This helps me to relax and clear my head. Some of my favorites are drawing, diamond painting, and photography. What is your favorite time to write? As a night owl, I do my best writing and plotting in the evening. Oftentimes, I find pleasure in writing once I’ve had time to decompress following dinner. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? If you want your writing to be perfect from the start, you’ll never get it done. Make it exist first, then go back and improve it. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? Being able to share my stories far and wide. I’ve grown to connect with readers and other authors across the globe, and I love that! Savanna Golden’s His Polaris is out now.
