Member Spotlight: Danielle Sullivan

author Danielle Sullivan and her book Embracing Your ADHD Brain

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Writing is how the human community can connect, exchange, and grow.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Go outside into nature, listen to the birds, make and drink a cup of tea, and try again.

What is your favorite time to write? Mornings, within the first three hours of waking.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? From Alice Walker: “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.” Answers to thorny problems come from inside of you, from your experience and knowledge, not from outside advice.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? We have so much access to each other in today’s world, perhaps too much access! But the opportunities for community-building, problem-solving, and creation are unlimited, and writing is the basis for all of it.
