Join the Authors Guild Chicago Chapter for an open mic on November 1st, 1- 3 pm, at The Pile Bookstore in Berwyn. Come hear spooky stories and/or share your own!

We have eight spots for AG members to read for four minutes each (about 350 words). Then we’ll open the floor to other AG and community members based on a sign-up sheet at the door.

To secure a spot, please RSVP by 5pm on Wednesday, October 28. If more than eight AG members apply to read, we’ll randomly draw eight names and let you know on Friday, October 30 if you’re among the lucky 8. Remember: Even if your name is not drawn, you can sign up at the door and (hopefully) still get to read. The sooner you arrive at The Pile, the better your chances will be.

AUTHORS, PLEASE NOTE:

  1. There may be children in the bookstore that day. We respectfully ask that your terrifying story not include harm inflicted on children or animals, graphic sexual content, or extremely gruesome body horror.
  2. The 4-minute reading time limit will be strictly enforced. (It’s only fair to the other readers.) Please make sure your time “on stage” does not exceed four minutes.

Please RSVP here to let us know if you’ll be attending and if you also want to be considered for the open mic portion!
