Hazel Rowley Prize

The Hazel Rowley Prize is currently accepting submissions for the best proposal from a first-time biographer. The Prize is open to citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. and Canada, writing in English, working on a biography that has not been commissioned, contracted, or self-published, and who have never published a biography, history, or work of narrative nonfiction. Submissions should include a proposal, a writing sample, and a resume. The winner will receive $2,000 and a year’s membership in the Biographers International Organization (BIO).
