Stories must not exceed 1,500 words. The winner will receive $3,000, publication in Writer’s Digest, and a paid trip to the Writer’s Digest Conference in New York City. The second place winner will receive $1,500 and publication in Writer’s Digest. The third place winner will receive $500 and publication in Writer’s Digest. All three will also receive copies of the 17th Annual Writer’s Digest Short Short Story Competition Collection, the 2017 Novel & Short Story Writer’s Market, and the 2017 Guide to Literary Agents.
