What’s happening in the non-fiction and memoir publishing markets? In a special Q&A session for seasoned writing professionals, Alia Hanna Habib will answer our questions, discuss the state of the genre, the mysteries of platform, what agents need from writers, and tips to find new niches.
A literary agent and VP at The Gernert Company, Alia represents MacArthur Fellows, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists, National Book Award finalists, and numerous New York Times bestselling authors. Her tastes include narrative non-fiction, literary fiction, and memoir. Alia is the author of the just-released Take it From Me: An Agent’s Guide to Building a Nonfiction Career From Scratch (Pantheon Books, 2026), and writes the publishing industry substack Delivery & Acceptance.
