2:00 pm-6:00 pm Pacific

Los Angeles Central Library, 630 W. 5th Street, Los Angeles, California

Regional Chapters - The Authors Guild

What could be more appropriate for the Authors Guild LA Chapter than a tour of the Los Angeles Central Library? Absolutely nothing! This magnificent institution traces its history all the way back to 1872!

1. We’ll meet in the Main Lobby in front of the Library Store at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 13th, and spend our first hour exploring the building on our own.

The landmark Central Library building, completed in 1926, was designed by renowned architect Bertram Goodhue, who also designed the National Academy of Sciences building in Washington, D.C. His extraordinary body of work helped shape Gothic Revival, Spanish Colonial Revival, and the transition toward early modern American architecture.

2. At 3:00 PM, we’ll attend the docent-led Art & Architecture Tour!

Cost: FREE! 🙂

3. After the one-hour tour, our group shall head just steps from the library to Settecento, a 1-2 minute walk – their happy hour is from 2:00-6:00 PM

Talk about a 1, 2, 3… We simply cannot wait!
