We’re looking forward to returning to Maine this summer for the Pascal Hall Authors Series, in partnership with the Lesher Family Foundation and Maine Media Workshops + College!
Events are free, but space is limited and registration is required to attend. Each event will begin with cocktails at 5 p.m., followed by the conversation at 5:30 p.m., and a reception and book signing at 6:30 p.m.
Karla Cornejo Villavicencio, whose writing focuses on race, culture, and immigration, sits for a conversation with Caitlin Shetterly.
Villavicencio is the author of The Undocumented Americans (2020), which was a finalist for the National Book Award; and the novel Catalina (2024). Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Elle, This American Life, n+1, The New Inquiry, and Vogue.
Caitlin Shetterly is the author of Modified, Made for You and Me, and the bestselling Fault Lines: Stories of Divorce. Pete and Alice in Maine is her first novel. The sequel will be published in 2026. A Maine native, she graduated from Brown University and now lives with her family in her home state.
