Our library of recorded webinars and literary event videos—more than 200 titles, most running 60–75 minutes—represents a rich archive of conversations about AI and copyright, free expression, the business of writing and publishing, and the literary world. This role will transform that content into short-form clips optimized for YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, extending the reach of our programming and the issues we advocate for. What the Work Involves Reviewing recorded webinars and literary programming events, and identifying multiple clips per video suitable for short-form social content Editing clips ranging from 60 seconds to 3 minutes for YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels specifications Adding captions from transcripts Applying branding per our style guide Delivering export-ready files with basic upload notes Participating in regular check-ins with our communications team to ensure alignment on tone and priorities Delivering content on a regular schedule Revision Structure Each deliverable includes up to two rounds of revisions. Additional rounds are subject to separate mutual agreement. What We’re Looking For Demonstrated experience editing short-form video content for social media Familiarity with standard editing tools (Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, Descript, or similar) Strong sense of pacing and what makes a clip land on social A genuine interest in books, authors, and literary culture is a significant plus — an editor who cares about these issues will naturally identify the moments most worth sharing Logistics Remote, flexible hours Estimated 8 hours per week over approximately 10 weeks to start Style guide and transcripts provided Strong performers may be considered for ongoing per-project work after the summer contract concludes.
