Tayari Jones’s An American Marriage, R.O. Kwon’s The Incendiaries, Walter Mosley’s John Woman, Anne Tyler’s Clock Dance, and Elizabeth Winthrop’s The Mercy Seat have been longlisted in the category of Fiction. Alexander Chee’s How to Write an Autobiographical Novel, Anna Clark’s The Poisoned City: Flint’s Water and the American Urban Tragedy, Susan Orlean’s The Library Book, and Tara Westover’s Educated have been longlisted in the category of Nonfiction.
