Lauren Groff‘s Fates and Furies was nominated in the category of fiction. Susanna Moore‘s Paradise of the Pacific and Michael Paterniti’s Love and Other Ways of Dying: Essays were nominated in the nonfiction category. Jane Hirshfield’s The Beauty was nominated for poetry. Finalists will be announced on October 14 and winners will be announced at the National Book Awards Ceremony and Benefit Dinner on November 18.
