Writing can be an important, potent source for good through its expressions of beauty, creativity, compassion, abundance. These need to be claimed for progress’ sake, inspiring acts of courage and integrity. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Show up. I’m at my desk every weekday morning at 7 a.m. and check in with other writers before we all get down to work. This leads to my second remedy—find or form a community of support. What is your favorite time to write? I’m a morning person so love to be up and into it early. However, I keep a journal on hand throughout the day because sometimes answers to questions pop into my thought after they’ve been tucked back to percolate for a while. What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Do it. Write. No judgement. Butt in chair, bad words on paper—you can fix it all on the revision! What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? The world needs our words more than ever.
