Writing helps me to better understand myself, my family, the people around me, and the people I may never know. The written word and art in general have the power to educate, delight, change minds, advocate for the common good and so much more. We need to make sure that a myriad of voices is always lifted up and available to all readers. What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Take a walk. Read a book. Engage with the world in some meaningful way. What is your favorite time to write? Mornings What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? It isn’t new or particularly revelatory, but the best advice I’ve ever gotten or given is to read, and then to read more widely and varied across disciplines and genres. What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? There are so many amazing writers out there and so many good books to read.
